Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) – Chowchilla, CA
This is the biggest women’s prison in the U.S.. It’s in a city called Chowchilla. Women have reported being touched, abused, and forced into sex by staff here. Many survivors are now speaking out.
Valley State Prison for Women (VSPW) – Chowchilla, CA (Closed in 2013)
This prison also used to hold women in Chowchilla. It closed in 2013 and now holds men. But many women say they were abused by staff while it was still open. You can still file a claim if the abuse happened here.
California Institute for Women (CIW) – Chino, CA
CIW is in Southern California. Women here say they were abused during searches or forced to do sexual acts. Some were too scared to report it at the time. If this happened to you, you are not alone.
Folsom Women’s Facility – Represa, CA (Sacramento County)
This is a smaller prison near Sacramento. Women have reported being touched or forced into sex by staff. Even though it’s not as big, abuse has still allegedly happened here.
